I am fishing for 300. The work continues.
Several months ago, King shared a news article with me regarding the ongoing crime in Albany, GA.
I asked him immediately, "How ready are Albany residents to make a change?"
His response was most of them just talk, never put forth any action.
I responded, "All you need is a remnant of 300 to invest in. They will take over the city. Once the 300 do the work, it will become unattractive to live in abject poverty. Your boys will carry your vision if you invest in them daily and show them why taking over Albany is possible. Show them what it could look like. Give them your vision, write it down for them, and let them carry it."
I then pointed King to Judges 7.
In this passage, God told Gideon he had too many people in his camp to take the Midianites: "The people with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hand, lest Israel boast over Me, saying, 'My own hand has saved me.'"
God then gave Gideon instructions on how to decrease his army's number.
He went from 32,000 men ... to 300.
Months after that conversation, King asked me if I had ever seen the movie, "300."
I hadn't, so he had me watch the film.
It's the story of the 300 Spartans who strategically defeated King Xerxes' innumerable army.
When we watch films like these, we often think something like this could only happen in fictional stories.
Our finite minds cannot comprehend just 300 men defeating thousands; and yet, there are multiple instances in history when such efforts actually occurred.
Abraham's story testifies of this as well.
At a time when one of his family members were captured by an enemy, Abraham gathered his small army of 300+ men and won the battle (Genesis 14).
There's just something about that number.
While we assume we need everyone in a city to become of one heart and mind to take a city back, in truth, all we need is 300 who will carry out the vision without hesitation.
At times when I am going through extreme difficulties, the Holy Spirit reminds me of various stories to teach me core lessons.
Recently, the Movement experienced a major implosion. Almost out of nowhere, former members of my team turned on me. Most recently, one went public against me.
The entire fiasco displayed itself on Twitter, and it nearly blind-sighted me.
The rest of my core team members were in complete shock as well.
No one saw this coming, especially from someone I called Brother for years.
There's nothing different I have done as the principal leader of this Movement that I did not do years ago to build the work.
In other words, I have not changed in any way. I am still that fire Coach who delivers insight and checks my own political side when I see us doing things that hinder our conservative Black Outreach.
I have not changed!
But as King often teaches me, "Everything happens in divine order."
As the principal leader of this national work, I am adamant about one thing: No one, and I mean absolutely no one, will get the glory for our rise and national impact except the Holy Spirit.
This work is His.
He inspired it.
I was just the vessel through whom the message was delivered.
And I have not changed in that message, either. Neither have I changed in my methods to get results.
But something happened to our leaders the second we reached mainstream level.
As a collective, we forgot our principles.
We started feeling ourselves too much because we got a little glitter.
Jealousy crept in among some.
Discord was sown.
And a former leader began sharing false information to our opposition to launch smear campaigns.
(Don't think for once I don't have the receipts.)
And so the implosion took place.
As the CEO, I was then compelled to make hard decisions that no leader ever wants to deal with: letting people go immediately and removing all traces of division.
Why? Because I know a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand.
I don't remove people because they disagree with me. I have had several disagreements with folks, but our commitment to the vision remained steadfast.
That is what bonded us despite our intellectual battles.
But at some point, people who I thought wanted the same results instead sought their own personal desires.
And the Conscious Conservative Movement is not about that life.
We are focused on service to God and to community.
This is why we have set our sights on transforming one of the most poverty-stricken cities in the country: Albany, GA.
We don't just talk a good message.
We apply the teachings and the principles.
And for years, I placed a demand on the general Conservative Movement to align itself with its core principles and do the work.
Now, it's almost as if the Holy Spirit is asking me, "Will you apply the same principles, convictions, and sharpness among your own team as you go out into these communities? Or will you only apply that pressure when it doesn't include your leadership friends?"
I knew I had to say yes to His first question, because I understand Black voters are watching me and the work. I also know other Conservatives are looking to see if this work can withstand the fire we took as a result of hitting mainstream.
And I've decided to remain steadfast on my convictions, no matter what!
Yes, it hurts.
I am deeply hurt by what has transpired, because I know personally the exact culprit who sowed the seed of division in the Movement and why.
It hurts because I had to put the Movement's mission ABOVE my own personal feelings.
There's nothing like experiencing betrayal from someone you invested so much time into.
Nothing!
So, what some folks call Twitter drama right now, I call cleaning house.
I cannot in any way bring this spirit with us as we infiltrate these core Black cities with Conscious Conservatism.
I am willing to endure temporary defeat if it means experiencing lasting victory in these cities.
I know what I'm doing, and my insight has been accurate since day 1. I trust what the Holy Spirit is showing me, because He has never lied to me!
So, why would I doubt Him now when He is unveiling so much?
His insight is the same Wisdom I used when I began addressing Conservatives at large. Even then, they told me to stop speaking out because my message and methods were causing "division."
But I never bowed down, because I knew we could do things a better way and get better results.
I kept the vision before me, even when the crowds told me it would never work.
But now look at how high God has elevated us because I made the hard choice to remain grounded in these truths and principles.
Look at how He elevated us because I remained steadfast in what I knew the Holy Spirit showed me.
So, why would I change now when I know this pruning He has us under will yield far greater results than I can imagine?
Why would I doubt Him now when people have proven they will turn on me the second they become jealous or angered because I checked certain Republicans that they like?
My convictions and common sense will not let me forget the Lord who brought us to this higher place.
I'd rather see this Movement end than to reach the highest heights and dare say, "Look at how my hand brought me so much victory."
I will not do it, and I will not allow anyone to maintain that mindset in the Movement.
They must go, and anyone caught in that web must go as well until God removes the scales from their eyes.
I share this message with you because the Movement is in transition.
We've gone to a higher place where our impact is now felt on a national level.
So, in this next round, I am fishing for 300.
There will be much pruning throughout 2022.
A lot of "strong meat" content.
Such "pruning" will take the form of strategic teachings that repel some people while fortifying the minds of the ones who will remain loyal to the vision, the people, and the work.
Every leader functioning in this Movement and ministry MUST be about service to others.
Each one MUST have a specific assignment to do a work in their local area using the Conscious Conservative message.
Any media attention our leaders receive MUST be to promote the work on the ground or the content we develop that helps mobilize communities in the right direction.
That's it!
While it's been exceptionally hard witnessing former friends and political colleagues turn on me, I have to remember this comes with leadership territory.
I know in proper time, all truth will be revealed and perhaps there will be reconciliation later.
But for now, I am focused on the work.
And so are the remaining team members who are loyal to the CAUSE, not the woman.

Our next assignment is to host monthly voter registration events to help Black residents understand the power of conservatism. We will bring a message about economics and school choice. In addition, we will combine our training with a food drive.
