Always have, always will, even when it is no longer trendy.

Back in 2016, Americans witnessed what is now called the Modern Black Conservative Movement, an impromptu social media surge of Black people identifying as Republican or Conservative.

In the beginning of this new phase, nearly all of us received backlash from those who despised the base; yet, the more hate we received, the stronger we grew.

After Donald Trump won the election in 2016 - thanks in part to the increase of Black male voters voting Republican and many others staying home - it seemed more Black people wanted to identify as conservative.

Suddenly, we were hit with the Joy Villas and the Candace Owens and the Brandon Tatums ... all these random "Conservatives" who had voted Democrat their entire voting lives ... yet suddenly deciding to jump on the Republican/Trump train.

​Before long, Black Conservatism became a popular theme within social media with the promise that a major Black Exodus would happen from the Democratic Party.

And then came the same cycle.

Republican organizations like Turning Point USA picked up these soulless figures and began framing their narratives based on the usual talking points that Conservatives love to hear; and it made me wonder: "Are we truly interested in reaching more Black voters with this conservative message, or are we here to make a name for ourselves?"

At that point, I took a step back and became increasingly vocal in my criticism of the movement. We traded our authenticity in exchange for ratings and cash flows. We became loyal to a base rather than loyal to the cause of empowering voters to vote their conservative conscience.

And in 2018, during the mid-term elections, we paid for it when we lost seats in the House of Representatives and when so many Red states nearly turned Blue ...

... and we will pay for it again in 2020. 

With my audience on Facebook (and now on Twitter), I told the people: "We have to do things differently. We cannot continue pushing the same narrative that the base has been doing for decades regarding Black people. We need to switch things up."

Most did not take my strong encouragement seriously, but my teachings caught the attention of prominent minority Republican leaders (few of which I'm helping right now in Atlanta, GA and Washington D.C.).

Things are changing and have been shifting for years; but it seems the Republican Party is stuck on the old methods of winning by pandering to all-white audiences (and evangelicals) all the while belittling the majority of Black people.

And then they hire Black people to push the same talking points, even when such rhetoric denies their own convictions and truth.

I argue not only will this hurt the base in 2020, but it will completely cripple the entire Party over the next two decades if things don't change NOW.

And in this empowering post, I explain why this is so.

​I want to teach you, Beloved Conservative, that there is a better way of doing things. There is a method that can be used by every Conservative American so we see our values remain the dominant ideology in our country. And if you're willing to hear and to act, you will help bring change to our nation, which we so desperately need. 

Back in 2016 when the Holy Spirit asked me to devote my full-time towards FKMinistries and our virtual work, I initially resisted the prodding.

"I'll go broke doing ministry," I contended. "And I don't like being broke. Plus, Your people are hard to deal with." (Of course, the Holy Spirit reassured me I wouldn't go broke, and in fact, He gave me creative ideas for generating wealth.)

Before 2010, I spent a large portion of my life serving in ministry. I was a leader in our youth group, I was on the praise team, I led a ministry dance team. 

I gave so much towards the work; and when my "7-year tribulation" emerged, I wanted nothing to do with the ministry. (It's something about the attacks that gave me a bad taste for "laboring in God's vineyard.")

Quite often, when we position ourselves as leaders in a movement, we become a target for ridicule, persecution, and the like. We inevitably set ourselves up to receive public criticism, and for most people, this is a major turnoff.

I'm sure you may have felt the same way, especially as you contemplated moving forward in your ministry. Maybe you're questioning if this is something you want to venture given all the troubles that arise; and if so, this teaching is just for you.

Within this empowering post, I want to teach how to stay in this "fight," even when all hell breaks loose.

This isn't your typical lesson, either. Throughout this teaching, I want to challenge you to see obstacles in a different light. As you will come to learn, your perspective will determine the outcomes and rewards you experience while walking in your calling.

Every ministry has its own personality; and what may work for one Believer may not work for others.

One of my favorite ministries to follow is World Changers, International. Dr. Creflo Dollar has blessed me with his teachings related to finances and Kingdom dominion; and while his ministry has received criticism over the years, I find his work to be exactly what I needed.

In this empowering post, I want to teach about the value of positioning your ministry for a specific type of follower. While you may think your work is fitting for every person, in truth, it will attract (and repel) people, and this is a good thing!

Let's dive into this teaching.

I attribute mine to the Holy Spirit, the family I was born into, and the few leaders I've come to call mentors.

Each person, based on their gifts and anointing, has imparted something into my life. My father taught me to forever reject the victim's mentality; my step mother taught me about the prophetic office and gifts; spiritual leaders like Dr. Myles Munroe and Dr. Creflo Dollar taught me about Kingdom principles and dominion; my birth mother introduced me to the world of publishing.

Each person had a part and share in the success I have today.

But none have been more instrumental in my growth and expansion than the Holy Spirit.

Too often, Believers think of the Holy Spirit as a force or a lesser being among the Triune Godhead. But the Holy Spirit is God, equal in power and strength; He is a spirit with a personality, and His desire is to have relationship with the sons and daughters of God to empower them to be effective agents of change in the earth.

Knowing the Holy Spirit and understanding the gifts He distributes to the Body are primary pillars of FKMinistries; and in this lesson, I want to teach you more about the gifts of the Spirit and how they empower women like you for the work of your virtual ministry.

Back in 2017, I signed a coaching contract to work with a group of women in Sacramento who wanted to create a ministry around an anthology they wanted to publish.

I was truly excited about this project, because it was the first major one that I felt could catapult my business in the region. I wanted other ministry leaders to witness the impact of my teaching on Christian Writerpreneurship and book publishing; and I knew this contract would be the one to open the doors.

Prior to this new assignment, I had received a word from the Lord regarding my need to fulfill my vow. The Holy Spirit shared with a fellow prophet that I was called to empower women publicly, and that I needed to begin working on that message soon.

Little did I know this specific message would come only after experiencing another major setback.

During one of my group coaching sessions with the women, the gifts of the Spirit were in full operation. I began "reading the women's mail" and ministering to them based on the word of wisdom and knowledge I received.

That meeting was supposed to last for three hours; but it quickly turned into a six-hour "camp meeting."

The women were thoroughly impressed, not by my works but by the ministry that went forth. And as can be expected, whenever the Spirit of the Lord is moving, the enemy will come to snatch that word and that experience.

Days after the meeting, the woman spearheading the project called me. She wanted to talk to me about something one of the other women found on the Internet about me. In other words, she wanted to talk to me about my criminal case and to find out if the story was true.

Now, at the time, I hadn't thought much about the matter. I was so focused on building my business that the last thing I wanted to address was that issue. But I obliged as much as a I could, and told her that no, those stories were not accurate; and while I was arrested, the charges against me were dropped.

Apparently, that wasn't enough information for her and some of the women; and they practically demanded I give them more details or risk losing the contract. For the first time in years, I could feel that old "oppressive" spirit trying to control me again. It was that same spirit that said, "If you don't do what I want, I will hurt you." That's essentially I how I felt when this new contract began to turn.

Rather than wasting my time going through the mental anguish that I had spent years overcoming, I decided to cancel the contract and move on. Many of the women were distraught about my decision; but I basically told them if they can't learn to see me through the eyes of the Spirit and to assess my character based on the information I've already supplied, then I'm not the coach for them.

Ironically, it was through this interaction that The Holy Ghost and You Ministry emerged. It was through this encounter that I learned the true meaning of the ministry of reconciliation and why it is so important to master before anyone ever considers becoming a minister of the faith.

As I sat in the courtroom, waiting for the judge to rule on my case, I looked over at my attorney with apprehension and expectation.

It had been 3 years since they arrested me on charges of raping my scholars. Since that time, I had gone through months of depression, anger, bitterness, rage, and the like.

When my attorney first told me that it would be more than a year before my name would be cleared, I nearly died inside. It simply made no sense to me why anyone's life would be on hold, especially when that person spent her entire life "living by the book."

But this was the day I had been waiting for. 

When the judge called upon the prosecutor to give his recommendations about my case, she was stunned.

He no longer wanted to pursue this matter and agreed with our request to have the charges and case dismissed.

And just like that, the case was over!

That moment happened just like I remember my lawyer saying it: "It will be like the situation never occurred."

It's now 2019, exactly six years since my last day in that courtroom. That phase of my life was arguably the most stressful and life-altering moment; and yet had I known back then that those experiences were preparing me for the future ministry I have today, I would have gladly welcomed each trial.

Quite often, when Abba is preparing His children for greatness, He takes us through situations that would seem to kill us. He did it with Joseph; He did it with David; He did it with Esther; and He did it with Yeshua.

And through each experience, for those who maintained what little faith they had through the trials, the Holy Spirit empowered them to be agents of change.
