What does it take to thrive as a new Christian Writerpreneur? For many of us, this question proves difficult to answer.
There is so much to learn when it comes to online business and development, it seems nearly impossible to know for certain what will and will not work. Since 2016, I've devoted my energy to mastering the concept of Christian Writerpreneurship; and what I've discovered is nothing is more important than receiving expert coaching for one's work. In this brief video lesson, I discuss this topic and more. If I had to go back and start my business again, I would work diligently to acquire the necessary resources to help pay for the expert training I needed to thrive. Such coaching would have saved me time; and it would have helped me network with the appropriate experts who could position me before the masses much more quickly. What I've come to learn over the years -- especially now that I coach upcoming authors and speakers -- is that we can't go any higher than our own limitation. Growth and expansion only manifest when we partner with those who have achieved the level of greatness we desire. So, let's dive into this quick, 6-minute presentation. I know it will bless you.

During this brief teaching, I want to help you overcome self-doubt and unbelief as a new author or speaker. Whenever you decide to put yourself out there in the public, there will be times you wish you could crawl under a rock. Sometimes people will misjudge you or tell you your story doesn't matter. They may lie on you or call you names, mostly because they are intimidated by your success. What I want to encourage you with is this: You are right where you are supposed to be. No one can do the work God anointed you to do. And when you have this confidence, nothing can shake you. Now, let's get into today's teaching. I'm sure it will bless you! Remember what it was like in high school when petty people found ways to be relevant by being...ya know...petty.
Well, apparently, social media has only reinvented new methods for people to feel special about themselves by taking gossip stories and building "momentum" for their online platforms.
Over the last few months, I've been extremely critical of the modern Black Conservative Movement, mostly because the conservative/Republican base has appointed uneducated Black influencers to be the mainstream voice and face of the cause. (Apparently, this is nothing new. I really shouldn't be shocked by it.) And with such platforms, they use these voices to openly condemn and belittle Black people, all in the name of "helping" Black Americans. Much of my criticism has been focused on Candace Owens' words and actions, who, despite being fiercely attractive and a slick talker, still seems to say things that make you wonder, "What the ...?" (Here are just a few of her statements: "The Southern Strategy is a myth"...racism isn't a big deal--even though racist high school boys threatened to kill her years ago...and the infamous, "Hitler had dreams." I could go on, but let's stop there with the buffoonery.) Now, apparently, being a critical thinker regarding "leaders" among the base isn't allowed. (I must have missed that meeting when they dished out those rules.) Apparently, to be a Black Conservative and to have social media influence, you have to read from a Black-script written by old White Republicans. You have to speak the same right-wing talking points, and any deviation from the script will result in a social media "whoopin" from the base's Black overlords, aka the BBBs: Black beta boys. I had the "pleasure" of experiencing my own "whoopin" last week when BBB Patrick Hampton became so femininely enraged that I had deleted him from my friend's list months ago. (I seriously felt like I was dealing with a menstrating woman who couldn't seem to get her emotions in check.) When I blocked him this last time because he just wouldn't stop "talking" or calling me names in my private messenger, he then managed to get on his other Facebook page to send me another message. (The beta-ness would not stop!) He wanted to let me know that since I had the nerve to block him, then I would suffer the fate of his wrath by being "exposed" as a rapist because of some articles he read about me. Oh, Petty Patty...how stupid thou art. Apparently, when a Black Conservative doesn't fall in line and worship the appointed goddess of the movement, Candace Owens, then it's time to bring out the big guns. (Or in this case, the beta guns.) It's time to call the beta overlords to come out and give us back-talking Black Conservatives a "switchin'." It's time to find whatever can be found that will make any Black Conservative stay on the Republican plantation. It's time for...(get your popcorn out)... Gossip. Petty. Patty. Gossip. Not only that, but Patty managed to get another Black Conservative, Judge "Judy" Janice to jump on the bandwagon, making the gossip even more enthralling. As I write this post, I am reminded of one of my favorite high school movies, Mean Girls. It's the story of three cute girls who run the school based on telling lies about everyone. The only way they exercise any clout is when they speak evil about other people. I like to call last week's "whoopin" a modern, and yet disturbing rendition of this film, staring old people...really old people. Try to imagine a creepy, Black version of the film, where Black beta boy Patrick and Judge "Judy" Janice are your classic--yet seriously old--Regina George and Gretchen Wieners. (I'll let you decide whose part Patrick plays.) And while such slander could have easily put me back in a state of anger and depression like it did 10 years ago, I decided to look at all the wonderful benefits that have come as a result of their sorry smear campaign. Let's get started. Bless the Lord, Christian Writerpreneur,Welcome to the 4th episode in The Christian Writerpreneurs Virtual Summit Pre-Event.
