Bless the Lord, Believer!
Welcome to the LiyahAmore University blog series, where we share powerful lessons that help you build a dynamic virtual ministry that will change the world.
Whether you are a new and aspiring Christian Author, Speaker, or Conservative Leader, these articles are just for you. Each one will provide you a snippet of what you can expect to receive as a student inside LiyahAmore University.
Before I jump into this lesson, let me introduce myself in case you are new to the blog and my virtual ministry.
My name is Felecia Killings. I'm the Founder and CEO of FKMinistries, and our mission is to help God's people engage in this end-time revival and national reformation using the written and spoken word.
Since 2011, I've worked with Christian Authors specifically to help them craft powerful books that minister to a particular audience.
And in January 2018, I scaled the business and ministry to focus on upcoming authors, speakers, and conservative voices who believe they have a message to share with others. Feel free to learn more about me and the ministry here.
Now, within the LiyahAmore University blog series, I provide numerous teachings on the technical aspects of launching a virtual ministry; and in case you're wondering what this term means, allow me to explain.
Think about your favorite author, writer, speaker, thought leader, or conservative influencer.
Now imagine yourself being one such individual who uses both the online and offline space to spread the message God called you to do.
This is the essence of a virtual ministry.
More specifically, a virtual ministry is a work that enables people to develop a strong relationship with God.
Virtual ministers use the spoken and written word to "tear down, take apart, and demolish" ideologies that rise against the knowledge of God (Jeremiah 1:9-10); and then we use our messages to help build and plant again so that lives are changed for the better.
A virtual minister does more than publishes books. One's work embodies a movement that tackles areas such as abortion, domestic violence, family, finances, relationships, politics, and more.
When implemented effectively, virtual ministers can create works that generate sustainable income. More than that, they can create ministries that revolutionize the culture, one person at a time.
But building a powerful virtual ministry requires one to understand the business and technical aspects of the work. Even if you choose not to operate your future virtual ministry on your own, it's important that you have the knowledge and understanding so you won't be deceived in this world of publishing and ministry.
When you don't know much about this industry and the virtual space, it can be easy for other people to take advantage of you. I don't want that to happen to you, and this is why I deliver such education.
Now, for today's teaching, I want to share with you 13 best business practices that will help your future or current virtual ministry thrive.
So, grab your notepad and pen, and let's spend some time together.
Success is based on what you perceive.
When it comes to understanding success, what image pops up in your mind? What does success actually look like to you, and can you pinpoint the direction that will lead you to your accomplishments?
If you are like most new authors or speakers, it's hard to tell what will and will not make you successful. We are all looking for that formula, that secret weapon that will catapult us into our next level.
But the truth is, there is only one path that leads to success, and it's something that anyone can take as long as he or she is willing to make the strides.
Success is not relegated to one person's interpretation but rather a set of God-given laws that ensure each person's ability to triumph in this life. And that's what I want to address with you in this Empowering Post. I want to discuss with you the role that 13 specific factors have in helping you build the virtual ministry of your dreams.
I want to discuss more specifically the laws of success or the law of attraction. I realize that not many Christians adhere to these laws, which explains why so many people in the Body of Christ struggle financially. It's also easy to see why there is so much animosity in the Church as it relates to wealth. The answer is because we typically see the wealthiest Believers being those of the five-fold ministry gifts. Some people gawk at such wealth accumulation without realizing that anyone, and I mean anyone, especially you, Believer, can achieve a great level of wealth and prominence if you know how to employ the laws or principles that God established from the beginning.
So, as you reflect on this message, have an open heart to receive. In everything we do, we ought to give glory to God. And we can demonstrate our love and honor to Him by taking care of the virtual ministry He placed in our hearts. It's up to us to take the steps that are necessary to generate the greatest level of success, and I want to help you discover this in today's Empowering Post.
Want a Thriving Virtual Ministry? Then You Need to Think and Grow Rich
Just recently, I began consuming this book, Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill. I stumbled across this text after asking the Holy Spirit for more discernment regarding wealth and its accumulation.
In my latest e-book, Wealth and the Believer, I share how my attitude about money was so limited, it was hard for me to believe that I would ever make more than $60,000 a year working a traditional job. Now, I'm sure that's a lot of income for some people, but because I have such a wider vision than others, that salary would never cut it for me.
You see, I have a strong desire to create a business that hires Christian Authors on a full-time basis. I also have a desire to use the bulk of my income to help fuel this end-time revival. I've learned from my studies that great movements ceased because of a lack of administrative organization and lack of finances. And for those reasons, only making enough to take care of me and Aaliyah wouldn't work. I can't help very many people when I can barely help myself.
But in the back of my mind, I just could not see how I would ever earn any more than that. And that thought process hindered my growth.
For years after leaving the public school system, I suffered financially. I could never seem to land the right job, and this affected my ability to adequately provide for me and Aaliyah.
That's when I did like most of us Believers do: I started complaining to the Lord for my lot in life. I had the nerve to accuse Him of not holding up to His end of the bargain, which was to provide more than enough to me, especially because I was a tither for so many years.
The nerve, I know!
I actually held this idea that God owed me something because I had financially contributed to His work of ministry.
During my bouts of complaints, I finally came to my senses. Instead of throwing my fist in God's face (metaphorically, of course), I decided to just ask the Holy Spirit how other people managed to acquire wealth. I decided to ask Him to teach me those same laws and principles so that I could generate greater results and do what He called me to do.
And that's when things changed for me.
In searching for great books that discussed wealth, I came across Think and Grow Rich. It cost me just $1 to purchase; and after reading it in just 3 days, I felt like the millionaire I wanted to be. I felt like anything was possible because I had the exact knowledge I needed to move forward. I also spent considerable time searching the Scriptures to understand God's take on the matter, and suddenly, my poverty mentality was eradicated. Why? Because I had learned the laws of success, and it cost me just $1 to obtain the resource.
Here's a lesson that you must learn early in your journey as a new Christian Author, Speaker, or Conservative Leader: There are God-created laws that help us acquire the success we want, but we must be willing to do our part so that we experience what we hope for.
Can you see that?
The only way we will thrive in our calling is when we apply the laws of God to our lives and our ventures. And you'll be surprised to learn that every great thing we see in the earth is the result of these laws in motion.
The 13 Factors That Lead to Your Success in Your Virtual Ministry
1.) The idea
Every great product or service began in someone's mind. It started with an idea. There is nothing on earth that was created that did not have it's beginning in the mind.
When God created the heavens and the earth, He first pictured it in His mind and heart. Then He went to work. We, too, have been given this power, because we were made in His image. Therefore, we do what we see our Heavenly Father do.
Napoleon Hill made this remark: "Truly, 'thoughts are things,' and powerful things at that, when they are mixed with definiteness of purpose, persistence, and a burning desire for their translation into riches, or other material objects...When you begin to think and grow rich, you will observe that riches begin with a state of mind...".
What you think about, you become. Thoughts are just that powerful. "As a man thinketh in his heart, so he is" (Proverbs 23:7). As a new Christian Author, Speaker, or Conservative Leader, it's not enough that you say you want to be successful.
You must already see yourself walking in that success right now.
Your idea about your virtual ministry must remain fixed in your mind so that you make no room for anything else but to see that idea manifested in the physical world.
2.) The desire
As ideas stir in our hearts and minds, they begin to translate into a burning passion. The more your mind replays the vision that you have for your writing ministry, the more you cultivate this desire that cannot be quenched. It can easily transform into an obsession, one that won't let you stop believing.
3.) The faith
We understand that God functions through faith. He believed it, and therefore He had the power to manifest it. Jesus could perform no miracles without first believing that God had given Him the power to do them. Faith is so fundamental to our growth as Virtual Ministers, because without it, we will not see our works flourish.
If you feel you lack in faith, understand that you need only ask of the Holy Spirit, and He will give to you the faith you need to believe Him for the impossible. But you must be willing to hold onto that faith, for any traces of doubt concerning your ministry will lead to its demise.
4.) The affirmation
As you continue to believe for what you envision, you must create a statement of faith and affirmation that will imprint on your mind and heart the things that you desire.
There is a reason why we are taught to write our visions. Those who do so generally reach their goals more than those who do not write them down. Your statement of faith must then be rehearsed every day and night so that you cultivate the plans necessary to bring them forth.
Napoleon Hill summarizes this understanding by giving us a glimpse at how rehearsing this affirmation affects the subconscious. Each time the statement is read--and eventually memorized--the subconscious mind goes to work in preparing the next steps for your success. In essence, our actual words are creating the world we desire.
Your statement of faith can be as simple as you like. But you must make it a point to write your vision and to repeat it to yourself each day.
5.) The specialized knowledge
At this point, your entire being is involved in helping you reach your goals as a new Christian Author, Speaker, or Conservative Leader. Now it's time to find the right knowledge and expertise that will help you progress.
No one has ever been able to achieve success on one's own. It is through the learned experiences of those before us that help us to master the skills we need for success.
The same is for new Virtual Ministers. If you intend to have a thriving online ministry, you must acquire the right knowledge for your particular field. This includes learning the world of Christian writerpreneurship and mastering the niche or industry in which you choose to write and speak.
Another point: You must be willing to pay the price--in time and money--to acquire this knowledge. Don't say within yourself, "I can't afford that." You must make a definite decision to purchase the education you need to get you to your next level. Once you do this, you can then move easily into the next stage of success.
6.) The imagination
Organized knowledge is powerful, because it has the potential to ignite your imagination. As you learn more about Christian writerpreneurshp, building a powerful speaking platform, or using your voice to spread conservative values, you will find that your imagination will take you places.
You will start to see yourself speaking to large crowds. You will think about hosting your own conferences and events. You will think about all types of wonderful endeavors that you can create, because the knowledge you received is creating a world of possibilities for you.
7.) The organized planning
As your imagination takes off, you must then be prepared to effectively plan your next steps. The challenge with using our imagination is that it can run wild. You may discover 100 different ideas that you can do, but you simply don't have the time to put into making each one a success. Therefore, you must choose the ventures that you will enjoy, and put together the plan of action that will help you become successful. For example, if you desire to host speaking engagements along with being an author, then prepare your plans for this, and put all your energy into making these ventures a success. The key, however, is your ability to be organized.
8.) The decision-making
People who lag in making decisions never accomplish anything. You must be willing to be a sharp, wise decision maker, especially because you are the CEO of your virtual ministry.
If you know that you have the resources to acquire the training that will impact your work, then don't hesitate to purchase it.
If you know you need to create online videos for your audience, then don't lag in doing that.
Take the information you have, and make wise choices quickly. And once you have decided, have the gumption to stick with your decision, because most often, your gut feeling is the right one.
When in doubt about something, ask the Holy Spirit for help. But trust what He says. In my years of working with Christian Authors, Speakers, and Conservatives, many of them told me the Holy Spirit gave them instructions to connect with me or to hire my services. But then days later, they changed their minds because of fear, doubt, or whatever. They had the time and resources to make things happen for themselves, but they resisted that leading. As a result, their efforts were thwarted. They were their own worse enemy.
If the Lord has told you to do something, whether through a dream or just an unction, then listen to Him. You will never be disappointed.
9.) The persistence
Life gets tough. And building a virtual ministry does not make it easier. It will take time and patience on your part, and you must be willing to develop persistence if you hope to achieve your dreams. Too often, people quit on their dreams because they did not see immediate results. They assumed the idea was wrong instead of re-evaluating whether the plans to acquire the aspiration were correct. And because of a minor setback, they gave up. But successful people understand that persistence is key. If you can overcome the feelings of frustrations and temporary defeats, you are sure to reach your goals.
10.) The master minds
As you cultivate the ideas and build the plans for seeing them come to pass, it becomes necessary to collaborate with like-minded individuals. Developing a group of master minds can dramatically increase your ability to prosper. Rather than having just your own ideas about how you can thrive, you solicit the efforts of others who can help take your ideas to another level. The best master mind, however, is that of the Holy Spirit. Working with Him in your virtual ministry will do more wonders for you than you can imagine.
11.) The mental power
The more you learn about your mind and its capabilities, the more you will understand just how magnificent it is. What a wonderful thing God gave to man. As a new Christian Author, Speaker, or Conservative Leader, you must understand that your mind helps you to pull the invisible into the visible world. What you feed it, it will produce. If you're constantly thinking negatively and doubtfully, then you will only experience what your thoughts produce. But if you are consistently pouring into your mind that which is good, wholesome, holy, and righteous, your world has no choice but to comply with your passion.
12.) The heavenly revelation
Napoleon Hill describes this next law as the "sixth sense." It's this idea that when we don't know what to do, and we have exhausted all else, there is a sixth sense that kicks in to give us the push we need to move forward. But I like to call this divine revelation.
As Believers, we know that we have access to the Father. Anything we need or desire, we can petition Him for it. I know from personal experience. My school, my network, my coaching program...everything that makes up FKMinistries is a direct result of my time with the Lord. The vision and dreams I receive as well as the plans for putting things together have come from Him. And when people ask me how I was able to produce so much in what seems like a short time, I tell them that it was the Lord. He visits me in dreams.
There will be times when you find yourself stuck and lost in this journey. And it will seem like there is no answer for you. But all you need to do is ask the Lord. Read the various biblical stories that show you how God visited men and women in dreams, and provided them supernatural, "sixth sense" information that helped them prosper. The Lord's ways have not changed, and He will do the same for you and your virtual ministry.
13.) The road map
Finally, when all is said and done, you must create a road map to your success. There may be others who want to follow in your footsteps of becoming a successful Virtual Minister. As you work on building your ministry, map the directions you took so that you can invest in others.
I pray that this lesson inspired you and ignited your resolve to win in this endeavor. You are called for this special purpose. God needs you. He wants to minister to people through your ministry, but you must be a willing vessel; and you must be opened to receiving all that's necessary to bring forth your virtual ministry.
Of the 13 factors that lead to your success, there are elements that you lack which must be filled if you hope to thrive. You need the support, the education, the training, and the answers that will get you from one point to the next. And this is what my virtual ministry does for Believers like you.
