Bless the Lord, Believer!
Welcome to another Empowering Post, where I teach you valuable, actionable lessons that will help you launch your virtual ministry.
I'm Felecia Killings, and I've been working with Christian Authors and Ministry Leaders for several years now. I'm deeply committed to helping you discover your purpose for your virtual ministry, and I provide the training solutions that enable you to make your vision a reality.
With every article that I publish, I want to give you different tips and lessons that you can start implementing today.
Building a virtual ministry, as new as it may be, is much more complex than what many Leaders realize.
Therefore, it's my mission to help make your journey easier to understand and manage.
In today's post, I want to teach you about how to properly invest in your virtual ministry, even if you're a new Christian Author, Speaker, or Conservative Leader.
There are so many entrepreneurs who are vying for your attention and your money, and sometimes this can be overwhelming. Many "gurus" promise to deliver powerful results to you if you choose to hire them; and some of them can actually deliver.
But when there are so many experts from which to choose, it can be daunting and outright frustrating, especially because you don't want your resources (time and money) to be wasted.
So, what I want to do today is give you the five must-have investment tips for your new virtual ministry. I'll also share with you why these elements are important, and how I have used them to help me move forward in my work.
More specifically, this article will teach you about:
So, grab your notepad and pen, and let's spend some time discussing the "5 Business Elements to Invest in Each Year as a New Virtual Minister."
You Must be Willing to Invest Time into Your Ministry
It never fails.
Whenever I connect with a client or a student, one of the common statements they make is, "I didn't know it required all this."
Whenever new or aspiring Christian Authors or Speakers get the idea to write and publish a book or to become motivational speakers, they make costly assumptions about the process.
They assume their books will automatically sell because God gave them the idea; or they believe speaking gigs will magically come knocking on their door because they have been chosen.
They assume people will automatically purchase hundreds of their books simply because they may be listed on Amazon.
They assume that all they have to do is write books and everything else will take care of itself.
That's a faulty mistake, and one that I don't want you to make.
When it comes to building your new virtual ministry (or enhancing the one you currently have), you need to see yourself as building your own business. There's no difference.
You have to give time and energy to your work, otherwise it will die.
If you don't nurture your ministry, no one else will.
You must be skilled in effective time-management strategies.
You must be skilled in planning the execution of your virtual ministry.
You must learn to adopt certain behaviors so that your ministry thrives for a lifetime.
When you master these skills and others, your work will grow over time, because you have learned to invest time into everything you do.
I know this can be challenging, especially because you are new to the industry.
I know it can seem daunting to complete everything that needs to be done, especially if you're working on your ministry as a solo-preneur.
But you can't allow excuses, procrastination, and a lack of persistence to stop you from walking in your calling.
This is something that I train my students to do. I want them to learn how to properly prepare themselves for long-term success in their ministry.
I teach them about planning their business, managing their time wisely, and setting SMART goals among other techniques.
Time is valuable, and you must learn to use it wisely. What you sow in your ministry today, you will eventually reap during a time of harvest.
You Must be Willing to Invest Money into Your Virtual Ministry with the RIGHT Training
I can't stress this point enough, especially because the virtual ministry industry will quickly become the new norm within the Christian market.
Your writing or speaking ministry and business will only succeed based on your willingness to invest in the right training for your work.
This is what I discovered back in 2015 as I observed my business stagnating.
I hated that I couldn't scale my work so that I generated more income.
But I realized the only way I could change my situation was to invest in my education and training.
That's when I began purchasing relevant books on business and entrepreneurship.
I purchased online courses that helped me better understand certain elements of entrepreneurship such as blogging, video marketing, online business management, sales funnels, systems of operations, and more.
Even when I had very little money to spare, I took that little and purchased my education, because I needed to prove to myself that my ministry was worth it.
And you must do the same thing.
If you want to see your virtual ministry flourish, then you must invest financially in the training that's provided to you.
Now, I have to admit: Back in 2015, I could not find any class or school that specifically taught me how to truly thrive as a Christian Author, Speaker, and future Conservative Commentator. That's why I turned to general entrepreneurial resources to help me understand certain concepts.
But I still wanted to have resources that specifically addressed me so that I could walk in my calling effectively.
That's why I decided to create my online school, because I realized I was not the only one who needed this type of training.
And since sharing my knowledge and expertise with other Believers, I have watched my students and clients soar in their ministries.
I want the same thing for you, Dear Reader. But no one will simply hand over to you all the golden nuggets that will make you wealthy and prosperous in your ministry.
You must first be willing to prove to yourself that your ministry is worth you making financial investments into it.
If you're not going to invest in your work financially, neither will others. Again, it goes back to the principles of sowing and reaping.
If you sow a little in your work, only expect a small return.
But when you generously invest in your training--in the RIGHT training!--you will experience success beyond your current dreams.
My work is a living testimony of this; and if you spoke to my clients and students, they would tell you how my training revolutionized their ministries.
Now, whether you decide to hire me or enroll in my school now or in the future, or if you choose to work with another expert, that is perfectly fine. But the idea is to find the right mentor or coach, that perfect training solution, so you become the best virtual minister you can be.
You Must be Willing to Invest in Your Online Platform
Your Author or Speaker Platform is crucial to your success in the online space.
If you want to build a following of loyal, committed readers and listeners, then having an Author or Speaker Platform is tantamount.
Your Platform is your online space where you make direct connections with your tribe or fanbase.
Your Platform includes your website and any other content marketing media that you use as a part of your marketing strategy.
One of the requirements I have for all my clients and students is that they have a blog and/or vlog as a part of their Platform. As an upcoming Author or Speaker, you must demonstrate your expertise to you audience in the manner you want them to receive you.
Building a Platform means providing consistent, ongoing content for your audience, even before you ask them to purchase your books and other products.
Without a Platform, it is nearly impossible for you to succeed, especially because readers and consumers expect entrepreneurs (and writerpreneurs) to have an online space for them to visit.
If building your Platform is a struggle for you, then I encourage you to purchase my latest e-course, Building an Author and Speaker Platform that Works!
This class will go through 15 different lessons that teach you the science of building your platform the right way so you begin to attract the right audience for all of your products.
When done effectively, your Platform can help you land speaking engagements, enroll high-paying clients into your coaching program, and even help you sell thousands of books each year.
Your Author or Speaker Platform has the potential to take your virtual ministry across the country and around the world!
And that's why it's important to be willing to invest in its development.
Again, when you do this correctly, the rewards will be outstanding.
You Must be Willing to Invest in Effective Marketing Endeavors
Nearly all new and aspiring Christian Authors and Speakers avoid this topic: marketing.
This is because most of them simply want to focus on writing their books or finding people to hire them for a workshop or conference.
They want publishers or other people to promote their works while they focus exclusively on writing or creating content.
And if you have thousands and thousands of dollars to spend on those kinds of services, then go for it!
But for most new Christian Authors and Speakers, they don't have the resources to do that.
So, what are they to do?
The answer: Invest in their own marketing efforts.
New Christian Authors, Speakers, and Conservative Leaders can use inexpensive, cost-effective strategies to promote their books and other products when they employ content marketing techniques.
Remember earlier when I told you that blogging was an important element of the Author or Speaker Platform?
That's because blogging is a type of content marketing tool that you use to help you promote what you intend to sell.
Consider how I'm currently using my blog posts to promote the products I have for sale.
Through my blog posts, which are my teaching lessons, I share with you powerful suggestions that you can apply today in an easy-to-use, easy-to-understand format; and then I embed my paid products seamlessly within each article.
From there, I share these empowering lessons on my social media platforms and online church, where the bulk of my audience resides.
And that's how you can use blogging to your advantage, too. It's a great way for you to continue writing while simultaneously marketing your ministry.
I created another e-course about this very topic called Content Marketing: A Course for Christian Authors, Speakers & Conservative Leaders, and I encourage you to enroll today.
I discuss the different types of content marketing tools that new Virtual Leaders can use today; and I share how you can apply them to your particular ministry.
I also teach extensively about content marketing in the LiyahAmore University.
In fact, I have several courses inside the school that dive deeply into various marketing endeavors such as Facebook marketing, Pinterest marketing, e-mail marketing, building your Author or Speaker Platform, and blogging.
If you want to know how to use all of these elements--and how to put your marketing strategies on autopilot--then enroll today in the school.
I promise to teach you how to make marketing your writing ministry fun and exciting for you and your audience.
(Just an aside: When you enroll in LiyahAmore University, you gain access to all the other classes I have to offer inside FKMinistries, including the ones I mentioned earlier in this post.)
You Must be Willing to Invest in the RIGHT Publishing Services
Now, here's what I mean by this:
Whether you decided to traditionally publish or self-publish, you need to do your homework.
You need to work with a reputable company that provides quality services for your needs.
If you want to traditionally publish, then you have to study that industry; and you have to find a company that is willing to take on your project. This is an especially challenging feat, particularly for new authors and speakers.
But if you move along the self-publishing route, you will find that it's easier to get your books printed and published.
But you still need to present a high-quality product.
There are thousands of service providers who can help you with your publishing needs, such as creating your book cover, developing your website, providing ghostwriting services, printing your copies, and much more.
I want to stress this point: Do not assume that you can do everything on your own. You are not the expert when it comes to the technical side of building and managing a powerful virtual ministry.
You are simply the expert in the message God called you to write and speak.
Therefore, it's vital that you be willing to invest in the right services for your ministry.
Here's Your Takeaway
As I shared in the introduction, there are thousands of entrepreneurs who are vying for your attention and money.
And when you are just entering the industry, it's hard to determine which services you should spend time with and what you should purchase.
So, your takeaway is that you make wise investment decisions based on the five elements that I tackled in this article.
These are most important, because they will put you on the right path towards success.
Find out who uses what services and why; and then make plans to invest.
And if you are interested in learning more about how I can directly help you on your journey as a new Christian Author, Speaker, or Conservative Leader, connect with me today. I respond to all e-mails within 24 hours, and I would love to help you walk in your calling full-time.
And as always, let's grow together!
