Failures in our social empires are a direct result of our unwillingness to abide by God’s Wisdom. His instructions are good and perfect. But our pride and rebellion against His ways lead to our demise.
We cannot ignore the need for strong social empires as we pursue the other areas of success. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his very soul? What does it profit a wife to make war with her husband, lose her home, and embitter her children? What does it profit a husband to sacrifice his sacred institution (his family) in exchange for wealth, power, and riches? We are living in a time when wholesome instruction is calling out to us to do better. To be better. But our pride stands in the way. We ask God the Holy Spirit for love, companionship, marriage, and success. Yet, when He delivers, our pride and arrogance ruin what could be a blessed union. We see destruction in our communities, and we call it a direct result of the lack of fathers in the home. But where are the instructors to teach men how to be good husbands? Where is the knowledge to teach women how to be good wives? Where do we find solutions to problems related to relationships? We find them in Wisdom. She cries aloud to us daily (Proverbs 1:20-33). She calls in the streets, in the markets she raises her voice. “How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple?” she asks. “If you turn at my reproof, behold, I will pour out my Spirit to you; I will make my words known to you.” Wisdom warns, the simple will be destroyed by their rebellion or pride. But She grants protection, grace, favor, and prosperity to the ones who listen to Her. Wisdom is not just for the exercise of political and economic power. It is most especially useful for building strong marriages and healthy families. Today, decide to do things God’s way. Get His results. And He will never cease to elevate you as you manifest His vision and calling in your life.
