Over the last three years, the Conscious Conservative Movement has made big waves in the conservative space.
As you know, our mission is to build social, political, and economic empires based on Kingdom principles.
While the bulk of our content focuses on politics, building the alliance, and getting political competition to Black voters, there is also another element we will address strongly this day forward.
Building social empires.
By social empires, I am referring to the family structure, or what many in the conservative space call the nuclear family.
For a while now, my spirit has been pressed with this topic, mostly because I see so many of our communities struggling. Too many single mothers are raising their babies alone. Too many families are experiencing physical abuse. Too many marriages are breaking down over miscommunication and petty nonsense.
But like with all things, these matters can be fixed if we learn to do things a better way based on Kingdom principles.
Let me preface today's lesson with this disclaimer.
By no means do I consider myself a relationship expert. I'm not in that industry and have not studied the data surrounding what works or doesn't work to heal marriages and relationships.
But I do have access to the Kingdom of God and how His principles lead to ultimate success. In addition, because I am a researcher, I have observed successful marriages and what both parties do to make their union work.
And that is where I will pull most of my lessons on this topic.
Marriage is an honorable thing. I loved being married and being a wife, although my first union failed due to extreme physical abuse. I left the situation to protect me and my daughter.
But I never stopped being a wife.
To this day, I live in that mindset, and I look forward to receiving a new husband, one whom the Holy Spirit brings my way.
Yet, because of my past experience, I have learned to maneuver this social empire space differently. When it comes to dating, I'm very selective. I look specifically for a man's vision to determine whether or not I'm able to submit to his calling and his leadership for a lifetime. I need to know specifically where this man is going so I can trust my life and my daughter's life into his care.
If a man fails to tell me his vision, I do not engage in conversations with him anymore, no matter his wealth status or looks.
I'm simply more meticulous this time, because I know while marriage is honorable, it is also very costly.
One wrong decision, and that marriage can produce a lifetime of struggle, abuse, and more.
For this reason, I'm able to discern between an excellent prospect or one who simply wants "to shoot their shot." And from there, I focus on my part in helping that man build as we both work together to create a strong social empire.
Too often, however, I see many successful men failing in their marriages or romantic relationships while thriving business-wise.
Some even consider this failure "noble" because they are "saving the world" and helping others.
But it's not noble.
Just like it's not noble to start a business and watch it fail because no effort was put forth to make it thrive.
Failed relationships should never be normalized.
Yet, the reason so many do not have both the strong social and economic empires is because the tools were not presented to have it all.
In other words, men today can thrive economically because systems are in place. There is order. There is strategy.
But when it comes to relationships and marriage, where is that same structure or clear function? Where is that order? Where is that strategy for success?
To get answers to these questions, I turned to the late Dr. Myles Munroe, who spent years teaching the world about the power and purpose of love and marriage.
Not only does he provide Kingdom perspective on the matter, but he delivers practical application to help men put order in their social empire.
This week, I will share several of his teachings with you, because it's important to hear from experts who put in the work and thrived.
Once knowledge is presented to you, however, there's no excuse why you can't succeed.
