Felecia's Award-Winning Lessons Will Teach You How to Use the Self-Publishing Industry to Launch Your Social, Political & Economic Empire
Welcome to another Empowering Post where we share powerful lessons that help you get started as a new self-publishing author.
I am Felecia Killings, Founder and CEO of The Foundation, and our mission is to equip you for your new writing career or ministry using advanced lessons based on effective writerpreneurship.
Over the last few years, I've helped new authors (and now upcoming speakers and Conservative leaders) craft powerful books that bring healing and deliverance to others.
I've taught my clients and students the power of using their stories as a method of empowering other people who have gone through similar experiences.
Not only do I provide assistance in helping them construct their own books, but I also equip them to launch their own ministries or businesses using the virtual or online space.
This includes providing teachings on best practices for marketing their works as self-published authors; setting up their social media platforms for building a fan base; creating multiple streams of income for their venture, and much more.
This is the essence of writerpreneurship: taking online entrepreneurial strategies and applying them to one's authorship.
In all, building a virtual business or ministry extends beyond simply writing a book or securing a couple of speaking gigs.
It's about creating a structure that brings immense value to the market; and you, my Beloved, have the power to do the same thing if you are willing to learn the spiritual and technical skills required to succeed as a writerpreneur.
That, in essence, is where my virtual ministry and online business come in.
Now, for today's teaching, I want to help you develop a strategy for building your virtual ministry while still working for another company.
Not every person is able to commit to their ministry or business full-time at the beginning, but it doesn't mean that one's work has to sit on the sidelines.
So, I want to share some tips with you today, because the only way your work will grow is when you are ready to sacrifice some things to make it happen.
Building Your Self-Publishing Career Requires Certain Behavioral Shifts
Quite often, when introduced to a new author, she will tell me she has numerous ideas for writing a book; and she believes this is something that can be completed easily.
She will tell me that her book will sell to hundreds and thousands of people.
All she needs to know is how to write the book and put it up on Amazon.
You can imagine the kind of shock she (and others like her) receive when I tell her that there are at least 100 steps she must take in order to have a thriving writing ministry or business.
With all that is required to build your new work, you must understand that everything truly begins in your mind.
The thoughts you have, the plans you develop, and the products you eventually create will have their start within your mind.
Therefore, you must learn to condition your mind to be ready to work on your behalf.
You see, it's not enough that you receive an idea from God to build your virtual ministry.
You also need to put in the work that will enable you to see that idea physically manifested.
For example, if you have a book to write, you can't expect anyone to purchase it until you actually write it. And then you can't expect people to purchase your book if you don't market it. And you can't expect anyone to purchase your product if you don't know HOW to market your work.
Until you train your mind to do what's needed to get good results, your authorship will fail. The same can be said if you desire to create a speaking platform and career.
There are certain behaviors that you must adopt if you want your authorship to succeed. And here's just a small list of what I mean.
If you want your ministry or business to thrive, you must practice:
The key in building your successful self-publishing career while working for another company is to establish creative and productive habits that move you towards your ultimate goal.
Building a Self-Publishing Career Requires Strong Time-Management Skills
There are several steps that you can take towards building your writing career or ministry.
But no skill set is more important than time-management.
How you treat your time each day is a strong indicator of where your heart truly is. Strong time-management is also a mark of strong leadership.
Although you might have to give 8 hours a day to another company just to live, you still have the choice to decide what to do with the remaining 16 hours.
For most people, they want to use that time doing leisure activities. They want to relax or mingle rather than using some of that time to work on their authorship.
They sit back and wait for "the right time" to start their book or to market their product; and then they wonder why God isn't doing His part to bless them.
As with all businesses, there are laws in place that govern success. These laws can be used by anyone, and they contain the power to make one rich and prosperous.
But these same laws can be used to usher in failure.
By making permanent the dominating thoughts and behaviors that control people.
Here's an example of what I mean:
If Author Jim wants to publish a book and earn $10,000 from his product's first-year sales, but he constantly thinks negatively about it, he will not reach his goals. His negative ideas of the publishing process will prevent him from doing anything that will help him reach his goals.
In this case, the Law of Sowing and Reaping is at play. Author Jim refuses to sow into his writing ministry or business, in spite of having an idea to launch it.
He doesn't purchase his training.
He doesn't market his book.
He just sits there with an idea and no action.
As a result, because he has sown nothing, he reaps nothing. In the end, the failure of his authorship is on him, not on the Lord and not on anyone else.
To the contrary, if Author Phillip decides to write a book, and he puts into practice what's needed to thrive, he will succeed. Phillip has learned the Law of Sowing and Reaping, and he applies it to his work each day.
Although Author Phillip may be tired from working his traditional job, he doesn't let that fatigue stop him from spending 2 extra hours each day on his authorship.
He doesn't allow procrastination and indecisiveness to stop him from purchasing the training materials and coaching that he needs to grow.
And after a year of working this way and sowing into his authorship, he finds that not only has he finished his first book, but he has learned to generate income from his venture.
In this case, Phillip has mastered himself, and he uses this skill to manage his time wisely.
I want you to think about how you can do the same thing for your self-publishing career.
Building Your Self-Publishing Career Requires the Right Training
Whether you are able to work on your self-publishing career for one hour a day or eight, nothing good will come of it unless you have the right resources to guide you.
I like the way Napoleon Hill addressed this topic in his book, Think and Grow Rich.
He shared that it's the power of the mastermind that enables each person to thrive.
No man can succeed without the aid or service of others.
It requires collective brainpower to bring good ideas into physical manifestations.
It's the knowledge and wisdom that others have acquired that make us capable of turning our visions into reality.
And while we may never directly speak with the great minds of today, we can read their teachings and learn from their wisdom.
This is the essence of training.
As I took time to build my virtual ministry the right way, I learned that in order to thrive, I had to listen to other entrepreneurs. I had to see how they generated success in online business.
Their expertise became my training materials; and when I applied their lessons, I witnessed great results.
This is why my virtual ministry stresses the importance of gaining the RIGHT training for your work, Dear Reader.
Yes, you can try to do everything on your own.
But you will eventually fail.
In other words, you will find yourself making costly mistakes that you could have easily avoided had you received the right training for your authorship.
If you are working for another company, but you still want to build your writing business or ministry, then one of the first strategies you must employ is to receive your training.
This is how your work will grow over time.
Once you master the training lessons (through your application), you will soon discover that your authorship is expanding more and more each year.
Today, after committing to my work full-time, my platform has reached millions and continues to grow.
I want the same for you, Beloved.
Always remember that your success is dependent on what you do and how much time you are willing to commit to your calling.
This is the difference between a successful self-publishing author and, well, the rest of the 99%. If you're ready to take that step of faith, let's work together on your authorship.
My award-winning coaching program and online school will do wonders for you.

"[My projects] would not be possible without the expertise of Felecia Killings, my writing coach, content editor, proofreader, and friend. Her professional skills have catapulted my writing ability in more ways than I can express. In 2016, she helped me complete The Space Between Memories and walked with me through The Mind of a Missionary as well. She helped consolidate my initial thoughts into this broad narrative of the missions endeavor...For that, I am very grateful."
- David Joannes
"Felecia has always been an award-winning coach. She taught me to stand up in my truth and to be okay with it. She didn't judge me. I will never forget the love and nurture that she extended to me over the years. All that she taught me is what I do in my business/ministry, sharing the same love to others to seek all that God has intended for them, according to His purpose."
- Tschanna Taylor, Best-Selling Author, Speaker & Life Coach

- Bessie Scoggins
"Felecia is very talented and has several qualities that a new writer can benefit from. She has excellent communication skills and a very sensitive and supportive approach to her training. What I love most about her teaching style is her ability to listen to what you want; then she immediately develops alternative approaches to improve your manuscript. I must say, the six-month journey of creating my manuscript went smoothly because of her support and assistance. I recommend Felecia without reservation."
- Mulu Afework
"I've worked with Felecia on two projects; she helped me with writing and editing my book. As an author, finding the right editor is very important. I had my book edited by someone who didn't do my book justice. But once Felecia performed the edits, the story flowed better than I'd image. I had found the right editor. Her skills are remarkable and I highly recommend her for any project you may have, big or small. As a writing coach, I wanted to take my business to the next level. Seeking out Coach Felecia was the best decision I made. She encouraged me to develop an online school, which I'm in the process of doing. She helped me create the curriculum, identify my audience, and provided me with the tools to succeed. If you need a coach to push you to the next level, Felecia is the person. She knows her stuff."
- Paulette Harper
"I want to thank my writing coach, editor, and publisher, Felecia Killings, for her coaching style and writing skills. Felecia stayed with me throughout the entire project. She heard and understood my heart in every word written. Her encouragement was priceless but not free. Every dollar spent was well worth it! Thank you for the skills that I learned in writing this project and the projects to come."
