KillingsVille Stories | How This Black Conservative Leader Rebuilt Her Life After Life Tried to Cancel Her
A Personal Story ...
Back in 2016, I made a risky decision to leave a tumultuous situation to create a better lifestyle for me and my daughter. I packed my limited belongings and moved to Sacramento, CA -- where I had no family, no car, no friends, no employment, and no housing.
With a couple thousand dollars in my account, I quickly found my resources depleting. And because public housing took so long to acquire, I thought of another method to secure a permanent home.
I turned to Craigslist and listed an ad in search of a room to rent in the local area. Within a couple hours, another mother responded to my ad, offering me 2 bedrooms and a private bathroom for $600/month in a brand new home.
I took the deal, moved in immediately, and began my new journey with my toddler.
Once I secured permanent housing, I made the choice to homeschool my daughter; but this choice required I work from home as well. So, I set up my website, hopped on freelance writing platforms, and began promoting my editing and writing services to entrepreneurs.
Without prior experience, I learned to market my services, which resulted in $100,000+ in revenue over a three-year period. This income enabled me to live freely while being a full-time mother and business owner.
After introducing the concept to other women struggling financially in Sacramento, I convinced them to partake in this "communal living arrangement."
We combined our resources and used my brain power to help them start their own business or acquire new job positions. I worked directly with other women to help them publish their books and expand their virtual ministries. And because of the communal support, each woman grew spiritually, emotionally, and financially.
Since 2016, I have become an award-winning writing coach, the founder and creator of an online publishing school, and a conservative voice in the political sphere. My influence has now reached the heights of Washington D.C., and it continues to grow. Today, I have learned to position my business and virtual ministry to reach the millions.
But none of this would have been possible had it not been for my unique idea to leverage communal living arrangements.
Our Single Mother Communities are Hungry for Solutions & Authentic Conservatism Can Deliver
Just as I applied my core conservative values to my situation, single mothers in our communities can do the same.
Contrary to what most people believe, mothers like myself were not looking to abuse government assistance.
We used it because we had no other option for immediate support and survival.
Many single mothers are in transition, just as I was back in 2016. Life has done everything imaginable to crush them. But they are still standing, not only for themselves, but for their children.
All they need now is one opportunity that gives them reprieve, that allows them to breathe, and one that equips them with spiritual and economic empowerment so they thrive (and not just survive).
Beloved, that's what we deliver to our mother-clients via our KillingsVille Communal Living program and My Beloved Women's Ministry.
And because of generous supporters like you, we continue to make an impact, now in Atlanta, GA.
Become a Beloved Giver Today
This morning, we have 3 mothers to bless. For those who know, resources go towards granting each mom funds for groceries. In addition, the blessing helps sponsor their economic training and spiritual development inside My Beloved Women's Ministry.
There is a spiritual law activated when you give: The Law of Sowing and Reaping is ALWAYS in Effect.
And as the Scriptures testify, "Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He [God Himself] will reward them for what they have done" (Proverbs 19:17) NIV.
Give towards this work of ministry, and watch how God releases favor in your life.
At the same time, when Black Communities see Conservatives SHOWING UP authentically, we help change their views or perceptions of conservatism.
And we build bridges the RIGHT way, thus making new allies in this conservative space during this next round.
The Felecia Killings Foundation and its team members are ready to show up, ready to be a blessing!
And your contributions will help us get there, Beloved.
Felecia Killings is also an Ordained Minister and Philanthropist. She is the Principal Coach of KillingsVille University and Communal Living Program, which teaches single mothers how to create new economic opportunities using the virtual space. Each month, her organization donates grocery blessings to the mothers affiliated with her program.
