Many Beloveds in the Twittersphere are well-acquainted with David Hogg. He rose to prominence after the Stoneman Douglas High School shootings and helped launch a national movement to advocate for more gun control (a racist, Progressive policy, but let me stay focused). Among his many angst was the influence of capitalism and its destruction in our nation. Like so many other young activists who hardly read books or engage with communities suffering from Progressivism, he became a strong advocate for bigger government. But more recently, it seems his views about Progressivism have changed, and not because he came into some academic enlightenment. No, his shift emerged as a result of his desire to start a legitimate business, forming his corporation as an LLC. Last night, Dinesh D'Souza shared a video clip of our interview, which sparked more conversations among Conservatives on Twitter. Folks who had never heard the Conscious Conservative message were both impressed and skeptical of it. The vast majority, just like you, Beloved, appreciated it. Yesterday, during Twitter Class, I raised a question to Black men and asked them to give me their take on an issue Democrats push heavily: Climate Change. I asked, "Dear Black men: Are you worried about climate change?" The initial response I received: No, Black men were more concerned with local issues such as economics, safety, and more. Back in 2016, I came across Napoleon Hill's book, Think and Grow Rich. During that time, I grew increasingly frustrated with my low-income status. In addition, I struggled mentally to get back on my feet, which was foreign to me given the success I achieved prior to my hardship. As I expressed my frustrations to God, I eventually came across Think and Grow Rich. I purchased a copy from Amazon for $1, and indulged in its content repeatedly for weeks. That book changed my entire mental outlook, and I soon realized my economic struggles had more to do with my own choices rather than what happened to me externally. They are meticulous about their resources. Great leaders understand the power of their thoughts. For this reason, they impress their minds with higher things such as love, peace, joy, happiness, loyalty, fidelity, and more. Add to it, they give their minds empowering content to consume, because they know what they sow today, they will reap tomorrow. This week, I want to challenge you to amplify your reading efforts. Those who remain steadfast and committed to their call and purpose will never be put to shame. In this new lesson, I want to briefly teach about the costs of toxic mentalities. It's not uncommon for an empowering message to rise at a time when the masses are in despair. Recently, I've consumed several of Napoleon Hill's self-help books like Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude and How to Own Your Own Mind. In these texts, he discusses spiritual laws that led to his success and that of many other prominent leaders. But these books do more than just inspire and motivate. They also provide an understanding of the social, political, and economic atmosphere of the early 1900s. In essence, these works have become history lessons for me. |
