Greetings Beloved,Happy Friday! As we wrap up another empowering week, here are a few lessons from our archives to equip you this weekend:
As you know, this week, we launched our 1st #BreakingPoverty Challenge. During times of economic crises, it's important to remember Kingdom laws and principles. Those who remain steadfast and committed to their call and purpose will never be put to shame. In this new lesson, I want to briefly teach about the costs of toxic mentalities. Early this morning, I ventured into LinkedIn. We typically know this platform for being a professional site where employers and prospects can network to make great matches.
LinkedIn is one of the best social media sites to demonstrate one's knowledge and skill sets. Yet, with the rise of racial hostility in politics and business, LinkedIn has become another cesspool for the "Woke" crowd. While reading through my feed, I noticed one Black mother's page, which consisted of numerous posts describing how angry she was for not being hired. As a single mother, I felt her pain. So, I visited her page to gain more perspective. However, looking closely at her profile, all I saw were posts describing how "non-POC" employers (aka White people) weren't hiring her and how much racism was a factor. When I attempted to find some blog articles or other content pieces that demonstrated her skill sets, I found them wanting. She had nothing, literally no videos or pictures or articles that PROVED she was as good a worker as she claimed. In that moment, I knew exactly why she wasn't hired, and it had nothing to do with racism. Her toxic mentality put a barrier between her desired opportunity and her current status. In fact, if I was an employer, and I only saw those "racism this and racism that" posts, I would consider her a liability to my company and not an asset. Why? Because if she's willing to vent her frustrations online WITHOUT having a job, she will slander my company online the second she feels slighted. And that makes her a liability to my brand. To the contrary, if this Black mother, with all her brilliance, published photos and videos of the work she did for other companies, or if she constructed long-form blog posts about how my company (or any business) could thrive using her ideas, then we have a different tale. In fact, that Black mother, because she would possess that positive mental attitude, would attract favorable results. By DEMONSTRATING beforehand how she is an asset to my company, I am obligated by the Law of Attraction to connect with her immediately to schedule an interview. This is simply one example of how toxic mentalities prevent people from experiencing economic opportunities. Again, it all begins in the mind. If you, Beloved, find yourself in a dire situation, take inventory of your thoughts. Are you using your words to complain or to create? What you sow into the atmosphere, you reap. Your words create your worlds. And if you aren't finding yourself in the place you truly want to be, put a check on your toxic mentality. Pivot your thoughts to higher things. And ask the Holy Spirit for Wisdom to help you get on the right mental track. Whatever He tells you to do, do it. If it means hiring a business coach to get you focused, do it. If it means going back to school to sharpen your skill sets, do it. But don't waste time or energy wallowing in frustrations or complaints. All it does is repel your favorable opportunity. Until next time, Beloved, be blessed. And as always, let's grow together.
