This past week was a hectic one. In conservative politics, we are currently dealing with an onslaught of anti-Black racism at a time when Black voters are considering another Trump presidency. For Black Conservative political strategists like myself, this always presents a major challenge. How do we effectively sell conservative politics to Black Americans while they look at our current Republican Party’s ongoing “tolerance” for anti-Black bigotry? For over 7 years, this has been a major obstacle to the work we do within The Conscious Conservative Movement. But it hasn’t stopped our impact. As I always tell my Beloved audience, “When we learn to do things God’s way, we always get His results.” Over the years, my influence in this conservative space has been immense. In 2020, I made a public declaration that a Trump (President) - Tim Scott (Vice President) - Sonnie Johnson (Communications/Advisor for National Black Outreach) would be the 2024 winning ticket. I won’t go into details at the moment about how or why this ticket is crucial. But needless to say, the people within the Republican upper echelon have taken notice and are currently putting this ticket in place. I never take my position in conservative politics for granted. I know it is a part of God’s prophetic calling on my life. I am beholden to the Holy Spirit, not any Party, politician, pundit, or political apparatus. Just the Holy Spirit. I am tasked with the burden of teaching God’s people how to know His laws and how to implement them in the social, political, and economic spheres. And I am grateful for this work because God has been my primary source, provider, and protector. Remembering my “why” is the only reason I remain in this toxic political space. Coming back to my purpose enables me to see clearly, even when I don’t understand how everything He shows me will manifest in the natural world. At times, when I forget my “why,” I experience work fatigue, work depression, and a lack of motivation. This brings me back to the first statement I made in this article. This past week has been a hectic one, and it forced me to question, “Is this what I want to deal with for the rest of my life?” Quite often, leaders are placed in hard situations that challenge their faith and their zeal to see God’s will accomplished in the earth. Some days are filled with financial uncertainty, personal and professional conflict, and other internal and external factors that affect our mental, physical, and spiritual health. When we can’t see how God will come through for us, we panic. Fear sets in. Worry and anxiety take front stage in our minds, thus leading to unproductivity. I know this feeling well, because I am experiencing it now as I write. The vision God has given me is vast. I want to see 3,000 rising leaders walking in their calling and purpose, and aligning with The Conscious Conservative Movement so we experience widespread revival and reformation nationwide. This vision has become an obsession for me. I eat with it. I sleep with it. Everywhere I look, I see the vision clearly and want it to manifest immediately. But time is the necessary ingredient. And sometimes the dream deferred is what triggers the frustrations. Yet, as the Scriptures teach, “Let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing” (James 1:4). As a coach to rising leaders, I am constantly placed in situations that demand I apply the lessons and principles I preach and teach. How can I teach faith unless I’ve learned how to apply it in hardships? How can I teach love unless I am confronted with those who are my enemies? How can I teach forgiveness unless I have mastered this spiritual law for myself? Leadership demands spiritual and practical application. And when we learn to embrace all that God has given to us, we experience His grace, His peace, and His blessings. Today, I encourage you, Beloved:
To answer the question I raised earlier – “Is this what I want to deal with for the rest of my life?” – the answer is yes. I love teaching. I love empowering rising leaders. I love God and I love people. I am functioning in my calling and purpose. I am demonstrating the wonderful works of God in my sphere of influence. I get to write and publish books. I get to coach amazing leader-clients. I get to homeschool my daughter and provide her the best quality education. And I get to live a simple life while making a national and historical impact. When it comes down to it, I want another 50 years of this work. If for nothing else, then at least my contributions can be an inspiration for others to perform the wonderful works of God in their spheres. No matter what, I am rich in favor, rich in health, and rich in peace. There is no greater feeling than walking in God’s divine purpose for my life. So, even when I experience days when I feel low or money is extremely tight, I am careful to remember the One who called me. And I pray you do the same, Beloved. Until next time, be blessed. And as always, let’s grow together!
